Power of Corporate All-Stars on Twitter & Digital Embassy
Steve Rubel spoke about The Power of Corporate All-Stars on Twitter at the 140 Characters Conference. His talk is packed with several great points. Watch the video.
I'm sure your organization has people using Twitter, but are you turning them into your corporate all-stars or as Steve calls them, rock stars. What about turning a group of people into your rock band? What I like about this idea is that you're taking a group of people and really saying to them, "Hey, I trust you, and I want to enable you to do great things for our organization." The channel (Twitter, Facebook, Friendfeed, etc) is not nearly as important as the management concept.
The other part of his talk that I really liked is this idea of building your Digital Embassy. If you think you're cool because you went out and created a Twitter account or a Facebook group, that's great, but how are you going to build your embassy in different communities. I think strategy is not as important as passion when it comes to building your digital embassy because you can't make plans around the next great technology.
If you have some Twitter rock stars in place already, great. If not, I don't think you have to look very far to find them.
Lastly, if you want your rock stars to collaborate, think about creating a Meeting Space for them on your Boardroom Web.
